Kitenzo Evolves to Become the Bundle Commerce Layer for Shopify

Kitenzo has evolved from a Bundle Builder to the Bundle Commerce Layer for Shopify. Let me explain.

Kitenzo is a Shopify app for enterprise stores building and selling product bundles: multipacks, gift boxes, fixed sets, and mix and match. Merchants use Kitenzo to create interesting buying experiences for their customers and increase average order value (AOV) without hiring a developer or replatforming their store.

That's the simple version. The bigger story is what's underneath: Kitenzo isn't just a bundle builder, it's a bundle commerce layer. You define a bundle once, with its pricing, rules, and conditions, and it works everywhere your store shows up: your Shopify theme, a headless storefront, or a custom-built React app.

How the platform actually works

Most bundle apps bolt a widget onto your theme. Kitenzo separates the bundle logic from the front end. The Conditions Engine handles the "if this, then that" rules: which products are required, which are optional, what happens when stock runs low, how pricing shifts at different quantities. That logic lives in one place and runs consistently everywhere the bundle appears.

You Bring the UI, Kitenzo handles the data

For merchants, Shopify agencies or developers who want more control, Kitenzo ships a React SDK (@kitenzo/react), built on a dependency-free core that runs in browsers, Node, and edge environments. It gives developers hooks like useBundle to pull in a bundle's sections and variants, useBundlePrice to calculate pricing locally without an API round trip, and useBundleCart to push a configured bundle straight into Shopify's native cart. There's also a headless API for teams building fully custom storefronts. Both the core and React packages are MIT licensed, so you're not locked into Kitenzo's code to use Kitenzo's logic. More info here.

Checkout matters here too. Kitenzo doesn't redirect customers to a separate checkout or process payments itself. Bundle configurations compile into Shopify's native cart and checkout through Cart Transform, Shopify's own function for applying bundle discounts. Shopify still owns products, inventory, cart, checkout, and payments. Kitenzo owns the bundle decision layer on top. That split keeps things secure and keeps your store on infrastructure you already trust.

Built for scale

Kitenzo has powered bundles for over 55,000 merchants and generated more than $475 million in bundle revenue since 2017. That track record matters more once a store starts moving real volume, because the platform has to hold up under load, catalog depth, and complex rules, not just look good in a demo.

For merchants selling $500,000 or more a month in bundles, Kitenzo offers an Enterprise plan. That includes discounted usage charges, migration support if you're moving off another bundling setup, and access to Kitenzo's engineering team for bespoke builds when the standard tools don't cover an edge case. You also get a dedicated Merchant Success Specialist instead of a support queue.

Pricing

Every Kitenzo plan runs on a usage fee, capped at 1% of each bundle sale. We charge it because we only make more when you sell more. That keeps every feature we build focused on one outcome: helping bundles convert and scale, whether you're running your first mix and match promotion or migrating a seven-figure catalog onto a new platform.

Kitenzo isn't trying to be everything. It's trying to be the part of your tech stack that handles bundles properly, so you don't have to build that yourself.
